Columbia Soccer Club?

Columbia Soccer Club strives to teach, develop and promote
soccer for all local area boys and girls.
What is the
difference between competitive and recreational soccer?
·
In recreational soccer you will learn the rules as well as
skills pertaining to the game. The focus is on learning to play the game while
having fun. Playing time is to be equally distributed among players.
·
In competitive soccer you will typically find a higher
standard of play, more focus on development of both individual and team skills.
Playing time is determined by the child's ability and at the coaches'
discretion.
How does the
Columbia Soccer Club operate?
·
Columbia Soccer Club Executive Board of Directors consists
of a President, Vice President Recreational, Vice President Competitive,
Secretary, Treasurer, Executive Director and Head Coach.
·
Columbia Soccer Club recreational coaches are all
volunteers.
·
Columbia Soccer Club competitive coaches are paid.
·
Columbia Soccer Club head coaches are required to hold at
least an 'F' license through Missouri Youth Soccer Association.
·
Columbia Soccer Club head and assistant coaches are required
to participate in the Kid Safe Program. More information on this program can be
obtained at www.mysa.org.
·
Columbia Soccer Club recreational coaches are parents of
players.
·
Columbia Soccer Club competitive coaches are chosen by the
Director of Coaching and placed to an appropriate age division. Some are
parents of players.
·
Columbia Soccer Club pays for all or some of the license
training available for coaches thru MYSA.
·
Columbia Soccer Club covers the travel expenses for
non-parent coaches.
·
Columbia Soccer Club recreational board meets the 2nd
Monday of each month and is open to all members.
·
Columbia Soccer Club competitive board meets the 1st
Monday of each month and is open to all members.
·
Columbia Soccer Club is a self-supporting club, reliant upon
player registration fees, tournament revenues and fundraisers.
What time
commitment is expected from the parents? (Recreational)
·
Some coaches will ask for parental help with snacks, calling players to
notify them of practices and games, etc.
·
Recreational games are played on Saturday mornings and some weekdays at
Cosmo Park.
What time
commitment is expected from the parents? (Competitive)
·
Each team will need a manager. It is the mangers
responsibility to help collect and process all paperwork for the coaches and
reserve hotel rooms for the team when traveling out of town. Managers are responsible for communication
from the coach to the families regarding practices and game schedules,
etc.
·
Each family will be required to work at our fall and spring
tournaments. (1 ˝ hours per family)
·
Each family will be required to work approximately 24
fundraising volunteer hours at bingo per player per year.
What does the
recreational registration fee cover?
·
Missouri Youth Soccer Registration and Liability insurance.
·
Fall & Spring league registration.
·
Game and referee fees
·
Team T-Shirt.
·
Team equipment.
·
'F' licensed head coaches.
·
16-18 games per year.
What does the competitive registration fee cover?
·
Missouri Youth Soccer Registration and Liability insurance

Team equipment
·
At least an “F” licensed head coach and assistant coach

League and tournament fees (limited to team budget)
Why does the
Columbia Soccer Club hold tryouts for competitive teams?
·
Tryouts are necessary to conform to MYSA's definition of a
competitive program.
·
Columbia Soccer Club might not find a position on a team for
every player who attends tryouts.
·
The number of teams formed in each age group will be based
on the number of competitive players available.

state file number on the players birth certificate

notarize as directed.

One copy of players' birth certificate

One copy of players health insurance card

Check for the appropriate player fee made payable to CSC
Pride/Courage. Please note the players name and age division in the memo
section.
